At Himalayan Health, we're very proud of our products and we love sharing feedback we've received from some of our customers. Please see below for a story we received detailing one user's journey:
This sure has been an interesting year, and like many, my stress and anxiety levels have been at an all-time high.
I know a lot of people do not like talking about anxiety or mental health… but when you have it, it controls your life. I should know, I have suffered from debilitating anxiety for over 15 years.
Obviously, everybody handles stress and anxiety differently, and suffers from different levels – for some, it might be just some butterflies in their stomach while giving a speech. For others, just the thought of giving a speech can throw them into a full-blown panic attack.
But between COVID-19, high unemployment levels, the election, and everything else going on in this world, I know my anxiety levels have creeped up to all-time highs in the past few months, and I know I’m not alone with that feeling. “Anxiety Relief” searches have DOUBLED this year alone on Google.
With over 40 million Americans already suffering from stress and anxiety, this year is bound to set record levels for stress and anxiety disorders. We are all feeling the effects of 2020...
I have been down that road before and know how quickly stress and anxiety can spiral out of control. At its worst, my anxiety was preventing me from even leaving my house – it had completely stripped away my life and I knew I did not want to head down that path again this year, but I felt like I was quickly heading in that direction.
Thankfully, I was able to figure out a way to really take the edge off and let me feel like myself again – even with all the negative things going on around me.
So… what have I done differently to keep my stress and anxiety manageable while the world seemed to be falling apart around me?
I started getting back into a good routine with a lot of the things that have helped me in the past. Exercise, better sleep habits, using breathing techniques, etc. And while those have always helped, that really was not what helped me take the edge off this year…
What really helped me was aromatherapy with essential oils.
It sounds strange, but trust me on this, it really worked to take the edge off.
Was it a miracle cure that completely rid me of my anxiety? No. But not even powerful medications with crazy side effects has done that for me…
But what aromatherapy did provide me was enough relief where I felt like I could function again. My stress and anxiety were not nearly as severe. It just made everything much more manageable.
I was extremely skeptical at first, but I have basically tried everything over the past 15 years to help with my stress and anxiety so I figured this was worth a shot, plus there was a lot of research showing the benefits.
While it is still generally unknown, aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years. Ancient cultures in China and Egypt used aromatic plant components for medical purposes, but aromatherapy using essential oils really became recognized in the 19th century by French physicians. Both French and German doctors have continued to use natural botanicals as an aid to chemical drugs since then!
I was not quite sure where to start, or what would give me the best relief, so I found studies on the best essential oils to use with aromatherapy for stress and anxiety relief. What I found consistently in that research was that there were 7 extracts that seemed to show the best results for relieving stress and anxiety: Lavender, Vetiver, Lime, Cedarwood, Bergamot, Marjoram, and Coconut.
Lavender was the most widely researched in terms of its beneficial effects on stress and anxiety and was shown to have a calming effect on the nervous system as a whole as well as the ability to lower heart rate, blood pressure, and body temperature in turn helping to induce more relaxed brain waves and promoting a better quality of sleep.
Vetiver on the other hand, is not one of the most-well known essential oils, however it has become known as the “oil of tranquility” in Eastern countries because of its calming fragrance. It has been used to alleviate depression and relieve insomnia thanks to its ability to eliminate inflammation of the nervous system.
There was research on lime showing it can reduce the stress hormone corticosterone. Corticosterone gets increased in our bodies when we have chronic stress and it affects our mood, sleep and memory. Likewise, bergamot also had been shown to reduce levels of the stress hormone corticosterone.
Cedarwood has sedative qualities reducing harmful stress and promoting restful and reparative sleep. Marjoram and coconut were shown to combat oxidative stress which can lead to depression, stress-build up and anxiety.
At this point I was a little overwhelmed. There was a lot of research out there, all on various essential oils and I had never tried ANY essential oils or aromatherapy at this point for ANYTHING, let alone trying to reduce stress and anxiety.
I decided my best bet was to order some of each and start trying them by process of elimination. I will say, it was a bit costly to do this, and I almost didn’t go through with it just due to the sheer expense – But I’m extremely glad I did and I’ll tell you why in just a minute…
I decided I’d give each oil a week with aromatherapy by diffusing it at my desk while I worked, as well as at night before bed on my nightstand and that I’d write down how I felt each morning (typically when my anxiety is the highest as I think of everything I need to do throughout the day) as well as jot down how I felt right before bed.
After the first few weeks and oils, I had seen a few promising results, but nothing like the research was talking about.
I’ll be honest, I was getting a bit discouraged.
Actually… I was getting REALLY discouraged. I had felt like I had gone “all-in” on this as a last-ditch effort to try to just find any relief for my stress and anxiety. I felt like I was about to spiral out of control again…
In my frustration I just tossed in a few drops of all seven of the oils at once and told myself if this doesn’t work, nothing will.
And wouldn’t you know it… I woke up the next morning and almost felt like an entirely new person. I still had some stress and anxiety, sure, but it was nowhere near the levels I was at just the night before or even in the weeks leading up to that morning.
And while I felt great, I just chalked it up to coincidence, not wanting to give the oils or aromatherapy the credit. But there was still some of that mix left in my diffuser, so I decided to try it again the next night… And again, I woke up feeling fantastic.
At this point I started getting hopeful and decided to give it a full two weeks using a mix of the oils all at once both during the day and at night.
That was the big turning point for me… And honestly what has gotten me through this year so far.
Although there was still the issue of the cost. Buying 7 different oils and trying to find the right combination was not only tough but getting extremely costly. While I truly felt relief, I was not sure I could afford to continue using the oils…
I decided to start to look online to see if anyone else had found relief using these oils and what they did to combat the cost. I did not really want to dilute the oils because I was worried that would lower the effects, and I really did not want to give up the relief that I had found.
That is when I came across Calm Blend by Himalayan Health. They had a blend of oils that used the same exact 7 oils that I had found relief with (lavender, vetiver, lime, cedarwood, bergamot, marjoram, and coconut). And not only that, but a single bottle of their Calm Blend was also about 1/5th the cost of what I was paying for the oils I was using!
I decided to order a few bottles to give it a shot since they had a 60-day full money back guarantee if it did not work for me to see if it provided the same relief that I had now grown accustomed to…
And thankfully, it did!
They even had more research on why this specific blend of oils helps stress and anxiety which is exactly what they developed Calm Blend to do!
They have some specific research on how Calm Blend interacts with the neurotransmitters in our brains to help reduce stress and anxiety on their website.
I also was thrilled to see you could use Calm Blend in other ways as well! Not just with aromatherapy in a diffuser like I had been. Using it topically can provide the same relief but is much easier and discreet while on the go!
To say that the results I’ve experienced with Calm Blend are eye-opening would be an understatement, which is why I wanted to share my experiences with you, as I hope you can find the same relief from stress and anxiety that I have…
I know how exhausting it can be fighting stress and anxiety day in and day out, and I don’t want to see anyone else go through that. And neither do the founders at Himalayan Health. You see, they also struggled with stress and anxiety for years leading them to develop a product line to try to help other people like them.
With the increase in the number of people dealing with stress and anxiety this year and looking for solutions, I know Calm Blend has been in pretty high demand. There have been a few times I went to re-order this year where they were out of stock for a few days, but when I checked earlier today they still had some available on their website and still were offering the same 60 day money back guarantee that I was able to take advantage of to test out Calm Blend at no risk.
I hope you find the same relief that I did with Calm Blend!
